Golfer

I’ve been golfing for close to 20 years, and I still find something new in it every time I step on a course. Golf has taught me how to slow down, how to focus under pressure, and how to stay disciplined when nothing seems to be going my way. It’s not just a game I play. It’s part of how I live.
I’ve taken my clubs across state lines, booked tee times in cities where I didn’t know a single person, and played solo just to challenge myself. I’ve shown up to unfamiliar courses determined to prove that I belonged there. Over the years, I’ve seen all kinds of animals wander across fairways, from armadillos to snakes to birds that had no business walking that close to me. I’ve had days where I laughed until I cried and days where I questioned why I even brought my clubs. I’ve met people who were kind, some who were curious, and a few who are now part of my life for good.
Golf has given me moments of peace, moments of clarity, and moments that reminded me how important it is to keep pushing yourself. The course doesn’t care who you are or where you come from. It gives you a fresh shot every time you step up to the ball.
In 2023, I founded DFW Elite Golf League because I wanted to make the game more accessible. Too many people feel like they don’t belong in golf. Maybe they didn’t grow up playing, or maybe they were told they couldn’t afford it, or maybe they just didn’t see anyone who looked like them on the course. I built this league for those people. We’re a co-ed community where beginners, returning golfers, and experienced players can all show up without pressure. We learn, we compete, we connect, and we have fun.
Golf has given me more than a hobby. It’s helped me stay grounded, given me space to clear my head, and reminded me that it’s never too late to find something you love. Whether I’m on the course with others or walking it alone, I show up fully. That’s how I approach the game, and that’s how I approach life.
